In ‘Trees and Memories’, Evelien Cammaert gathers visitors around a low, wooden table with a simple question whose answer rests in our pockets.  Over the course of an hour, she guides participants in (re)composing memories.

As we share these recollections, new branches emerge, taking on a life of their own. Memories shift and soften; old photographs become new aesthetic experiences

The performance is part of Cammaert's ongoing research project 'Archival Branches', the multilayered roles and resonances of (artists’) archives as living, evolving networks rather than static repositories of the past. Through this approach, 'Trees and Memories' opens the archive as fertile soil for transformation and renewal.
