'The Photographer Left, They Told The Truth', a reference to the French philosopher Jacques Derrida, is a triptych of live installations in which Bouckaert explores the boundaries between photography and performance. Derrida notes that in photography, the photograph remains, while the object and the photographer's intention have disappeared. The “truth” of the image exists in the interaction between image and viewer in a specific context (in time and space). Through the interaction between performers, visitors, projection, and print, she explores how images are made, how they constantly change meaning, and how an image can ever truly be finished.
During The Image Generator, the installation 'HAND' is used. A projected hand lies in the space. A still image never stands still. Forms shift and transform, raising the question of whether an image can ever truly rust. The installation invites visitors not only to look at an image but also to experience the process of looking and assigning meaning.
